Running in Paris (and some What I Wore, NOT for running!)

>> Saturday, March 26, 2011

We're heading off to Bordeaux this (Friday)morning, where we will be meeting Lesley from the charming, lively, thoughtful (if sporadic) Peregrinations (the title and subtitle alone indicate the quality of word-smithing that goes on here). Meanwhile, I'll schedule this post for Saturday morning-ish, depending where you live. I'm working on my next post already --- more stealth photos and a

Parisian chic, of a certain age . . .

>> Tuesday, March 22, 2011

I can't imagine what nerve one has to muster to ask strangers if it's okay to photograph them for one's blog. I don't think I could do it. Instead, I pretended I was immensely interested in architectural details such as those above in order to capture such certain-age inspiration as thisAnd yes, once she'd strapped her helmet on, she motored away on her bike, an elegant woman probably in her

Here's a closer view  --  I think he looks rather dapper, dressing from his carry-on only wardrobe as well.  We'll see how the look weathers over the next six weeks . . . Our

and more Grey Casual, Trying for Chic

>> Tuesday, February 22, 2011

My Fluevog boots. The photo below better reflects, for me, how well-dressed I feel in this coat (a Banana Republic Heritage cashmere). The one above caught me worrying a bit about proportions with the boots, the "stubbiness"factor. Pater dismissed my self-deprecation, as he should, and

What I Wore: Smart Casual with a Soupcon of Luxe

>> Sunday, February 20, 2011

I am still having the occasional turn-myself-inside-out bout of coughing, but I'm almost ready to skip an afternoon nap again. Between inching back toward running health and seeing some very welcome sunshine, it occurs to me that it's time to smarten myself up, wardrobe-wise, as well. After all, even though I'm not in front of a classroom this term, those near and dear might be getting a bit
